We're still looking for volunteer marshalls, so if you're interested in being a part of this exciting spectacle then please get in touch. As well as our undying gratitude, you'll get a free supper and a commemorative tee shirt to boot.

We have 31 competitors taking part this year, nearly twice as many as last year. With the winners from Catterline, Border Bogies, Cadwell Park, Belchford and Mansel Lacy all taking part, competition will be intense. As well as competing for the honour of being crowned King of the Mountain, the winner of the inaugural Scottish Cartie Association Championship will be decided at Cairngorm.  Crockle and Alford are current tied for first place and Team Rooket is just one point behind, so they will all be looking to do well.

New Course Confirmed

The revised course for Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme 2010 has been confirmed. The fearsome hairpin has been replaced by "The Switch", a brutal high speed right/left combination with an off camber blind apex. We don't call it "extreme" for nothing - at over 2 miles in length and with top speeds in excess of 60mph, there is nothing like this anywhere else in the Britain.

Full details, including a course map, profile, estimated speeds and onboard video of the entire track, can be found here.

Competition Rules Published

The updated rules for the 2010 Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme have been published and are available on the downloads page. They have been revised following a review in the light of experience gained at last year's event, although the only significant alterations are in order to incorporate the new Gravity Sidecar class.

New Course for 2010

We are planning to use a slightly different course for 2010, which should improve safety without reducing the overall speed or length of the course. Instead of starting on the lower relief road, we plan to start at the top of the Coirre na Ciste car park.
