C12 Lead the Pack

C12 put on an impressive show to qualify in first place, with Bush Racing in second place after the first day's competition in Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme 2010. 28 teams lined up after safety inspection yesterday evening and took part in a series of practice and qualifying runs in preparation for the main racing later today. The new course proved challenging and there were some spills as "The Switch" claimed its first victims. There were a few scrapes and bumps but no serious injuries to competitors. Unfortunately the same can't be said of the carties. Cairngorm Mountain and TDR spun off into the bales, with TDR damaging their steering and giving them a headache to get ready to race today. They were last seen heading in to Aviemore to search for parts and find someone who can weld aluminium. Meerkat and Monboys B also damaged their carties, with the  Monboys cart unfortunately now too badly dammaged to continue. It will now become a donor vehicle for part to keep their "A" machine running.

All is now set for an exciting days racing on the Cairn Gorm as the teams fight for the honour of lifting the King of the Mountain trophy. The action starts just after 6pm with the first of the group heats and will climax with the final at approximately 9pm.
