Story in the "Strathie"

Read about Cairngorm Soapbox Extreme in the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald.

"Confirmation of the race over the last weekend of July has been welcomed by the Aviemore Business Association (ABA) who hope that it will attract a good turn-out of spectators given that it is not a run-of-the-mill event.

Elaine Burlingham, secretary of the group, said: "This is a growing sport and they expect to have up to 24 teams taking part.

"We all remember the old soapbox carts made from old pram wheels but these 'gravity racers' are high performance machines, built and driven with skill and, I am sure, a good dose of courage."
